Icelandic Ewe and Lamb
Colin's Creatures Porcelain Sheep Figures, Faroe Island Family

It is stunning to watch the long fur of the Faroes blow in the wind. This Faroes family of sheep have creamy wild long hair. The ram has light brown horns, and the ewe looks head on while her lamb is turned to the side, gazing. The fur on this trio is mohair.

All my creatures are handcrafted in my Asheville, NC studio using porcelain, castable stone and imported woven fur from Steiff-Schulte in Germany.

Breed Description

The Iceland Sheep is a direct descendant of the sheep brought to the island by the early Viking settlers, in the ninth and tenth century and this is related to the Finnsheep and Shetland sheep. The natural colors vary from snow white through several shades of grey to pitch black as well as several shades of morrit to brownish black. Some individuals will also show mouflon, badgerface patterns with several combinations of color and patterns. Bi-colored individuals are also fairly common.
