Guernsey

The Guernsey originates from the chanel island of that name and was almost wiped out during the 2nd World War. It is now considered a rare breed. It is not used in large commercial diaries because it's production levels are lower than what is commonly found in the Swiss breeds but the milk is higher in butter fat and proteins which make it an excellent choice for cheese making. The fur is mohair. Do not put in direct sunlight.
