Cotswold Ewe Licking Standing Lamb

Colin's Creatures Sheep Figurines, Cotswold Ewe Licking Lamb

Enjoy this sweet English Cotswold and her lamb sharing a special moment. The ewe stands about 5" tall, the ewe is covered with woven mohair and the lamb's fur is wool.

All my creatures are handcrafted in my Asheville, NC studio using porcelain, castable stone and imported woven fur from the Steiff company in Germany.

Breed Description

I love to watch ewes and lambs interact. The ewe licking the lamb always reminds me of getting my face washed by my mother with a dampened napkin. I especially like the way the lamb's head is recoiling. The Cotswold is raised in the south midlands region of England and predates the Romans. It derives its name from the fact that is was originally housed in shelters known as "cots" and was pastured in wild, treeless hill areas called "wolds". While it is a somewhat rare breed, it is one of my most popular offerings.
