Colin's Creatures Porcelain animal figurines, German Graue Gehoernte Heidschnucke Ram

These majestic horned German sheep are simply unforgettable. Their black faces, horns and legs are complimented by their black and silver long fur. They are unique and unlike many other offerings I create.

Size: 5" Tall

Breed Description
The Graue Gehoernte Heidschnucke (or Grey Horned Heath Sheep) is the symbol of the Lueneburger Heide, the heath area between Hanover and Hamburg, Germany. It is a beautiful, rugged area covered with heather, bicycle paths and narrow roads meant for horse drawn carriages. The Graue Gehoernte Heidschnucke that live in this region is a very old, hardy breed which has thrived on the heather and birch shoots of the heath for centuries. The lambs are born solid black and turn a silver grey after their first shearing.
