Colin's Creatures Hog Island Sheep, Handmade Sheep Figurines


This Hog Island sheep family feature a curled horned ram, an ewe, and a lamb. The standing trio has a dark face and legs, but with a lighter nose. The fur is tan and wooly.

All my creatures are handcrafted in my Asheville, NC studio using porcelain, castable stone and imported woven fur from Steiff-Schulte in Germany.

Breed Description
The Higg island is a very historic breed in the United States, also known as Hog Island. These sheep are descendents from animals first brought to Virginia's Hog Island in the 1700s. The Higg Island sheep were common in the colonial period, in face, George Washington maintained a flock in Mt. Vernon.
