Norsk Kvit Sau Lying Ewe with Lamb

These small white lying lambs nuzzle one another with their front legs tucked under their fur while their hind legs splay to the side. Their ears are oval and stick out with incredible personality.

All my creatures are handcrafted in my Asheville, NC studio using porcelain, castable stone and imported woven fur from Steiff-Schulte in Germany.

Breed Description

The Norsk kvit sau (Norwegian White Sheep) is a fairly new breed, having been developed in the 1970s by crossing several other European breeds to come up with the desired traits. It was not a breed that I had planned to study on my trip, but they were so cute in the field outside my B&B.
