Romney Ewe Snuggling Newborn

Handmade Colin's Creatures Mother's Day Sheep Figures, Romney Ewe Snuggling Newborn

This sweet Romney mother could be protecting her lamb, but with the peaceful expression, I think she maybe simply enjoying her new baby's scent. Either way, she is certainly bonding with her newborn. The fur on the ewe and lamb are wool.

All my creatures are handcrafted in my Asheville, NC studio using porcelain, castable stone and imported woven fur from Steiff-Schulte in Germany.

Size: 3

Breed Description
The Romney, formerly called the Romney Marsh sheep but generally referred to by the local farmers as the Kent, is a breed of sheep originating in England. The Romney is a "long-wool" breed recognized in England by 1800. Exported to other continents, the Romney is an economically-important sheep breed, especially to the sheep-meat and wool export trades of New Zealand. The Romney now accounts for more than half of the sheep in New Zealand.--info via Wikipedia
