Romney Ewe with Droopy Ear Lamb

Colin's Creatures Handmade Sheep Figures, Mother's Day, Romney Ewe with Droopy Ear Lamb

This little lamb just got its ear tag which causes the ear to droop for about a week until the ear is strong enough to hold it up. The ewe stands protectively over her lamb while the baby nestles in under her warm body. The fur on the ewe and lamb are wool.

All my creatures are handcrafted in my Asheville, NC studio using porcelain, castable stone and imported woven fur from Steiff-Schulte in Germany.

Breed Description

The Romney, formerly called the Romney Marsh sheep but generally referred to by the local farmers as the Kent, is a breed of sheep originating in England. The Romney is a "long-wool" breed recognized in England by 1800. Exported to other continents, the Romney is an economically-important sheep breed, especially to the sheep-meat and wool export trades of New Zealand. The Romney now accounts for more than half of the sheep in New Zealand.--info via Wikipedia
