Romney Sheep Lying

Colin's Creatures Handmade Sheep Figure, Romney Sheep Lying

The Romney sheep features tan wool fur that is thick and coiled. Their white faces have detail in the carving and hand painted faces. This sheep is lying, so its legs are not visible as they are tucked underneath this hefty body. The sheep is a lovely neutral that matches nicely with almost any decor.

All my creatures are handcrafted in my Asheville, NC studio using porcelain, castable stone and imported woven fur from Steiff-Schulte in Germany.

Breed Description

The Romney, formerly called the Romney Marsh sheep but generally referred to by the local farmers as the Kent, is a breed of sheep originating in England. The Romney is a "long-wool" breed recognized in England by 1800. Exported to other continents, the Romney is an economically-important sheep breed, especially to the sheep-meat and wool export trades of New Zealand. The Romney now accounts for more than half of the sheep in New Zealand.--info via Wikipedia
