The Belted Galloway is such a glorious symbol of Scotland. The origins are a bit shady but the Dutch Belted is generally thought to be involved. The Belted Gallowy is a heritage beef breed originating from Galloway in south western Scotland. In the US, the Beltie is also known as the Oreo Cow. This is the third time that I've carved the Beltie and these are much smaller and more detailed than in the past.
