Colin's Creatures Ceramic sheep, Dorset Ram Lying

This reclining Dorset sheep looks straight at you, while his legs and feet are tucked cozily underneath his large body. The curly tan fur is the epitamy of what many classically envision when they picture "sheep".

All my creatures are handcrafted in my Asheville, NC studio using porcelain, castable stone and imported woven fur from Steiff-Schulte in Germany.

Breed Description

The Dorset (or Dorset Horned) is an English sheep known mostly for its prolific lambing. It has been known to produce two lambing seasons per year: bred in May for lambs finished by the holidays, and bred again immediately after the first lambing to produce again in March or April. The Dorset has a white face with close short fleece. It has a solid build, with broad back and short legs. Originally, both rams and ewes had horns. --info via Wikipedia
