Colin's Creatures Handmade Galway Sheep, Ewe with Kneeling Nursing Lamb, Porcelain and Wool

Alternative Views:

I like all things lamb related, but nursing lambs are the sweetest. I find it especially amusing when the lambs are a little bit older and they have to kneel down to nurse. This ewe gazes down at her growing lamb, who is on bended knee to get mama's milk.

All my creatures are handcrafted in my Asheville, NC studio using porcelain, castable stone and imported woven fur from Steiff-Schulte in Germany.

Breed Description

The Galway was developed in western Ireland from imported English Longwools in the late 17th century. They are a large polled white-faced sheep, having a characteristic bob of wool on the head and wool on the legs. The pink ears of the Galway sheep give it a more delicate look than many other breeds.
